RECOMMENDED ST MAARTEN EXPERIENCES

St Maarten has a lot of activities to offer. The writer of this article, tells about his experiences on the island. He writes about a lot of restaurants, activities and also places to visit on the island.

The ‘Welcome to St Maarten’ moment came for him when he was toggling down the Flying Dutchman zipline. The zipline can be found at, at Sentry Hill. The Company is called Rainforest Adventures. Aside from the ziplines, St Maarten has a lot of activities to offer for everyone. A lot of activities revolve around the many beaches of St Maarten. For example Great Bay Beach in Philipsburg and Maho Beach at the foot of Princess Juliana international Airport are both mind-blowing.

If you like to be more on the water instead of aside the water, then one of your options is Pyratz Gourmet Sailing where they offer amongst other things a sunset Catamaran sailing tour along the coast of St Maarten. Other excursions they offer are snorkeling, paddle boarding or kayaking.

Concerning the restaurants, for a true local experience you want to go to Sint Maarten Lolo’s, the road side eateries. These sort of food trucks are all scattered around the whole island. If you are more into restaurants you should check-out Ocean lounge, which is part of Holland House Beach Hotel; Sale and Pepe, located right after Simpson Bay Bridge; and the Azul Restaurant at Sonesta Ocean Point Resort.

One of the must-visit places, is Marigot, the capital of the French side of the island. There is a local market located next to Fort St. Louis.

For making sure your experience around your accommodation, Divi Little Bay Beach Resort is recommended. The resort, which includes eight bars and restaurants, activities for adults and kids alike, and an all-inclusive option, occupies a private peninsula that separates Little Bay from Great Bay, and includes the remains of Fort Amsterdam, a former Dutch stronghold that was built in the mid-1600s. For getting around the island you can either take a taxi or bus or rent a car.
