Furthermore does St Maarten not only serves as a hub to visit other island, but St Maarten itself is also an amazing destination. The island is divided by the Dutch side and the French side. On the Dutch side there are a lot of big resorts, all located on the Beach. Favorite beaches are Cupecoy Beach, Simpson Bay Beach and influencer-favorite Maho Beach.

The capital of the Dutch side is Philipsburg, and can sometimes be pretty busy due to the many cruise ships its receiving. You also will not get bored because there is a lot to do, St Maarten is one of those destinations who truly has something for all ages.

The French side of the island called St. Martin, is more familiar for its beautiful nature. St Martin has a lot of nice beaches. Some of the best can be found in Anse Marcel or Orient Bay. Baie Rouge is also a really nice beach. The capital of this side is named Marigot, and is a nice and small town which is perfect for eating good food and shopping. From Marigot, Fort Louis can easily be reached, which is definitely worth a visit due its amazing view.

In the contrary to the Dutch side, St Martin does not have that many activities. There are some very nice hiking trails as well as goof snorkeling/diving spots, but mostly people come to St. Martin to eat and relax. It has even built up the name of the culinary capital of the Caribbean. Although the best dining can be done in Grand Case.
