Where to find Oyster Bay Beach Resort

Oyster Bay Beach Resort is in the Oyster Bay area of St Maarten. The resort is located on the eastern side of Dutch St. Maarten adjacent to the border to the French side. Philipsburg, the capital of the Dutch side is 10 minutes by car and only 15 miles from Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM). The resort is adjacent to the mile-long Dawn Beach only a few steps away from the resort.

How to get to Oyster Bay Beach Resort

Location of Oyster Bay Beach Resort

Oyster Bay Beach Resort is located in the Oyster Bay / Oyster Pond Area, next to Oyster Bay Beach. The pond is binational; its French name is “Etang des Huitres”.

How to get to Oyster Bay Beach Resort  from the Princess Juliana International Airport ( SXM ) , Cupecoy, Simpson Bay and Philipsburg Area.

In case you are coming from the Cupecoy direction, first pass through the Mullet Bay Golf Course towards Maho / PJIA Airport.

Follow the direction to Philipsburg from the PJIA, Cupecoy or Maho area. Pass through the Simpson Bay district via the main road until the Kruythoff Roundabout. Take the road uphill past Harold Jack. On the roundabout on the top of the hill, take the road going steep downhill left of the large water silos. Once down the hill, at the One Tete Lohkay Roundabout, turn right. Follow this seaside road all the way until you reach Philipsburg. When in Philipsburg, follow the asphalt road and take the sharp turn to the left. After 100 meters, turn right again towards the Great Salt Pond.

You are now at Pondfill or WJ Nisbeth Road, a stretched boulevard along the salt pond. Keep following this road with the salt pond on your left hand side and Philipsburg on your right towards the end at the Emancipation Monument rotunda.

Take a left from here. Keep following this road straight for ten to fifteen minutes, until it goes steep downhill and Oyster Bay appears. Take a right before you cross the French side border. Take the first right onto the peninsula where Oyster Bay Beach Resort is located and follow it to the end.

How to get to Oyster Bay Beach Resort from Marigot

Coming from Marigot, follow directions to Philipsburg. When over the border, keep the lagoon and causeway bridge on your right until you reach the Kruythoff roundabout. Turn left and see above instructions as of the roundabout.

How to get to Oyster Bay Beach Resort from Grand Case, Grand Case Airport (SFG) or Orient Bay

When coming from the northeast, take the main road south bound until you reach French Quarter. When you reach the middle of this town, go left at the bakery. Follow this road for ten minutes, keeping sea and later Oyster Pond on your left hand side until you reach its border. Right after you crossed the border, turn left towards the Oyster Bay peninsula. Take the first left to reach the hotel.

Parking and buses to Oyster Pond

Oyster Bay Beach resort has ample parking space both inside and outside the resort gates.

No public buses reach Oyster Pond. The closest by bus station is Emmaplein, Philipsburg. It is advised to take a taxi from here (10 min. drive)
