SOUALIGA NEWSDAY: SINT MAARTEN TAKES HOME A SILVER MEDAL AT THE ANTIGUA LASER OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP
SAILING TALENT OF ST MAARTEN
On March 25th and 26th last weekend the Antigua Laser Open Championship took place in Simpson Bay. Emma Lennox, Rio Stomp, Melina de Vries and Veronica Destin competed in the Laser 4.7 class of the championship. It was an exhausting but very exciting sailing weekend.
At the first day Emili Gaillard took the most first place finishes and therefore won the class 4.7 of the Regatta. The second day Emma Lennox finished first place a couple times and finished second, just before Rio Stomp who finished third. Their coach Sam Peeks stated that the sailors al learned a lot of new skills and only got more motivated for the next event in St. Barths.
The Sint Maarten Yacht Club is very proud of these sailors and look forward of what the future will bring for this upcoming talents.
