SXM TALKS: COMMEMORATION NATIONAL REMEMBRANCE DAY – MAY 4 2024
National Remembrance Day
On Saturday May 4, 2024 the Government of Sint Maarten will observe ‘National Remembrance Day’, (“Dodenherdenking”) along with the other countries within the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
National Commemoration Day remembers all Dutch victims, civilians and soldiers killed around the world in war situations.
This year’s theme is Freedom: prelude o 80 years of freedom. ‘The years 2024 and 2025 mark a lustrum of 80 years since WWII ended.
The ceremony will take place at the Captain Hodge Wharf in Philipsburg.
