SOUALIGA NEWSDAY: SXM DOET ENCOURAGES THE PUBLIC TO REGISTER TO VOLUNTEER
REGISTRATION FOR VOLUNTEERS NOW OPEN
On March 10 and 11, the 9th edition of SXM DOET, one of the biggest volunteer initiatives of the island, will take place once again. The teams of coordinators are actively trying to stimulate for people to sign up as volunteers.
The organization is expecting 1500 volunteers, based of previous editions. This year projects answers a large variety with projects listed for each interest and focus, like every other year. SXM DOET is executed by The change foundation as well as Oranje Fonds, and is a kingdom-wide initiative. Over 400.000 volunteers from the Netherlands, Curacao, Aruba, St. Eustatius, and Saba are participating in the event. The team of coordinators are actively trying to gather as many volunteers as possible. They are going by the saying that “more hands make for lighter work”.
