AWARENESS CAMPAIGN “WHY DO WE LITTER? – ST MAARTEN” IS COMING TO AN END

Join the official project closing of the campaign “Why do we Litter? – St Maarten.”

The “why do we litter?” campaign initiated by EPIC, The Environmental Protection in the Caribbean Sint Maarten Foundation, kicked off last May 2022. EPIC is an independent, non profit organization with the goal of safeguarding the Caribbean environment, by doing research and engaging in community-based initiatives on St Maarten. The aim of the “why do we litter?” campaign was to learn from the different St Maarten neighborhoods, that have litter problems, and try to come up with effective ways to stop the littering.

The Campaign was funded by the Netherlands Government through the St Maarten Trust Fund. Also The World Bank an the Association of Netherlands Municipalities (VNGI) helped managing it. With this closing event, the initiators of the project want to thank everyone that has contributed on the campaign. The event will also be used as an official moment to present the final campaign results.

The closing event of the campaign takes place at the University of St Martin (USM), on the 4th of September. Everybody is welcome from 5:30 pm.
