Winair Expands Cargo Services Through Global Partnership

Winair has announced a new partnership with World Cargo Solutions (WCS) to strengthen air cargo services across Sint Maarten and the wider Caribbean. By combining Winair’s regional network with WCS’s global cargo management expertise, the collaboration aims to deliver more reliable and efficient cargo connections. The partnership positions Winair to better link island economies with key international markets.

According to Winair CEO Hans van de Velde, cargo has long supported the airline’s operations, but this agreement takes those capabilities to the next level. The collaboration allows Winair to transform its fleet into a high-performing logistics network that supports local businesses and communities. It also reinforces the airline’s role in connecting the Caribbean to the global economy.

For businesses, the expanded cargo services mean more frequent inter-island connections, improved access to international trade routes, and logistics solutions tailored to Caribbean needs. Through WCS’s Total Cargo Management model, customers will benefit from end-to-end support, including booking, handling, and customs services. WCS Executive Director Daniel Gengo noted that the partnership is designed to be locally rooted while globally connected, creating new opportunities for trade and growth.

Looking ahead, Winair plans to optimize existing routes, expand inter-island cargo options, and develop regional logistics hubs. Longer-term goals include supporting e-commerce growth and extending cargo reach into the Americas and beyond. The partnership underscores Winair’s ongoing mission to connect communities while driving economic development throughout the region.
