CARIBBEAN EXPERTISE AT THE CHESAPEAKE: ELECTEC AT THE ANNAPOLIS BOAT SHOW!
Each autumn, Annapolis, Maryland, comes alive with the spirit of sailing as the celebrated Annapolis Sailboat Show welcomes boating enthusiasts, industry leaders, and marine innovators from around the world. And that clearly included a delegation from St. Maarten, as regional yachting and sailing hub!
From October 15–18, 2026, the historic harbor becomes a showcase of beautiful yachts, marine technology, and the enduring allure of life on the water. As visitors wander the docks, explore impressive vessels, and discover the latest innovations shaping modern boating, the show offers an ideal setting for meaningful industry connections and fresh inspiration.
Adding a touch of Caribbean expertise to this prestigious maritime gathering is Electec, part of the St. Maarten Marine Trades Association (SMMTA) delegation representing the island on a yearly basis. Established in 1992, Electec has grown into one of the Caribbean’s established electrical supply and service businesses. It operates from Cole Bay – right off the Simpson Bay Lagoon, the massive natural yachting harbor making up the island’s west end, with well known marinas like Port de Plaisance and IGY Marinas.
