Divi Little Bay Resort Day Pass

One Day St Maarten Cruise Itinerary “UnderSXM & Little Bay Beach Resort Day Pass”

Little Bay Beach vs Great Bay Beach Day

Great Bay Beach, as the closest beach you might encounter during your cruise trip, is a bustling place. Next to a popular cruise visitor spot and shopping destination, it is also alongside capital Philipsburg.

If you are looking for a more quaint beach to spend a day on St. Maarten, the answer lies right across your cruise ship. One can even say that as the crow flies, it is just as close to the cruise port as Great Bay Beach.  On the other side of landmark Fort Amsterdam, that is – so just out of sight from your porthole window.

Little Bay Beach, either a 30 minute walk or 5 minute taxi ride has all the amenities to spend a Caribbean day as you dreamt it to be. It can be found alongside the scenic Divi Little Bay Resort, uniquely situated on a peninsula together with the fort.

A solid base is a Resort Day Pass by Aqua Mania Adventures. This provides beach chairs and fun water toys for kids.

Fort Amsterdam is freely accessible and with only a 20 minute walk from your beach chair you will have explored most of its bulwarks.

For a sumptuous lunch, seaside seafood restaurant Pure Ocean and beach club Gizmo’s are at your disposal. If you are more into a light snack, the Fort Amsterdam café can assist. A small supermarket also provides cold drinks and snacks for your beach day.

Diving Under

There is more to this gorgeous beach – and it is right under the surface. At the Aqua Mania Adventures booth, you can book a sloop and snorkel tour to UnderSXM, a new underwater sculpture park right off the beach. Its over 300 submerged statues provide an amazing overview of St. Maarten history and culture. In addition, the variety of sea life that started nesting in between of the works of art is worth a visit on its own merits.

If you have had enough shoreside water fun, you can always pop by Philipsburg on your way back. Its lively boardwalk is en route to take a drink or do some souvenir shopping in parallel Front Street.
