Sailing events taking place on St Maarten / St Martin

SINT MAARTEN YACHT CLUB: 31 TEAMS SAILED IN THE 2022 ST. MAARTEN DINGHY NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN SIMPSON BAY!

Sint Maarten Yacht Club Together with Sint Maarten Sailing Federation Held a Sailing Event on St Maarten / St Martin

On June 4th the St. Maarten Dinghy National Championship was sailed in Simpson Bay. 31 boats competed in the second edition of this annual event. The National Dinghy Championship is a collaboration from the Sint Maarten Yacht Club and the Sint Maarten Sailing Federation (SIMSAF).

 

Even though the event is called the St. Maarten Dinghy National Championship, the event is open for other nationalities to join. Only the title St. Maarten Dinghy National Champion can be won by a St. Maarten sailor.

 

In the Laser Class 8 competitors raced. Emma Lennox came in third place, Justin Pieterse in second and Jules Fortunati took the win of the event. With this results Emma Lennox came St. Maarten National Champion in the Laser 4.7, Justin Pieterse became St. Maarten National Champion in the Laser Radial and Frits Bus came St. Maarten National Champion in the Laser Standard.
