One Day “Kim Sha & Kayak” Itinerary for Cruise Visitors (+ Kim Sha Beach Visit)
For active cruise visitors, there is a lot to explore on scenic St. Maarten in a day. If you want to combine activity with a beach day, consider taking out a kayak, either by yourself or with expert guidance. A Kim Sha Beach Kayak Tour allows you to explore the island from a different view, as well as many smaller, in-the-know beaches just around the corner. If such a St. Maarten daytrip appeals, see below travel plan to put your dots on the i. This day plan clearly requires a water and sport proof outfit!
Tri-Sport is open Monday – Saturday and offers three starting times for your kayaking adventure: 9AM, 11.30AM or 2PM. Visit their office in Simpson Bay, where you’ll be guided to the starting point of your kayaking tour. The tour lasts 2,5 hours, giving you plenty of time to explore the beautiful beaches around Simpson Bay.
Beach day time at Buccaneer
Buccaneer Beach Bar is not just popular with visitors, but also with residents. It is located at Kim Sha Beach, and next to its wide menu for lunches, it is a great opportunity to wind down from your kayak adventures, it also offers a great selfie opportunity.
Latest 3 o clock, get back into the direction of the port. Buses stop at the main road on the far side of the beach about every 10 minutes. Look for vans that have a white sign with red letters “Philipsburg” in front.
With about 30 minutes bus (or taxi) time, you still have time to spend in Philipsburg, only a 15 minute walk to the cruise port. Embark on a shopping spree, visit its great restaurants or see some of its famous Mural art.
