TWO SIDES OF THE SAME COIN

Maho Beach is popular amongst visitors who want to experience the site of the planes landing at Princess Juliana Airport, touching down just beyond the beach in dramatic fashion. The upbeat atmosphere filled with sounds of jet engines and people is representative of Dutch side St. Maarten.

On St. Maarten there is opportunity for accommodation, activities and nightlife thanks to dense population centers, such as Simpson Bay and Philipsburg. The Dutch side is considered to be popularity and pulse.

Unlike the lesser-known airport on French side St. Martin  Grand Case (SFG). Providing flights to other Caribbean islands such as Guadeloupe and St. Barths it is with less frequency and almost zero fanfare.

By comparing these two airport one gets a general sense of the destination as a whole, both in vibe and volume of visitors. While the Dutch side hosts more people and is generally cheaper. The French side has a smaller crowd, more natural areas and is more expensive.
