2026 Caribbean Multihull Challenge Ready to Showcase Exciting Entries

With registration opening soon, anticipation is building for the 2026 Caribbean Multihull Challenge, taking place January 28 to February 1 in St. Maarten. As the Caribbean’s only multihull-specific regatta, the CMC continues to draw a compelling mix of returning teams and new challengers, with early entries already creating buzz. The event features both a competitive racing fleet and a more relaxed rally division, making it a unique gathering for sailors who value high performance as much as the cruising lifestyle.

Among the standout entries is Layla, the Gunboat 72 that dominated the 2025 season by winning the CSA 1 class. Launched in 2024, Layla blends racing performance with cruising comfort, highlighted by her innovative flybridge that centralizes sail handling while offering unobstructed views and lounge-style seating. She will once again face stiff competition from Falcon, a striking 14-meter DNF F4 foiling catamaran whose bold yellow hull and cutting-edge design demand attention. Fresh off a narrow victory over Layla at the Multihull Cup in Mallorca, Falcon sets the stage for a highly anticipated rematch in Caribbean waters.

The intrigue deepens with reports that Olympic champion Eduardo Penido may join the fleet aboard the Raku 44 Bellatrix. Racing for the eighth edition of the CMC will unfold across the spectacular waters around St. Maarten, including a 60-mile loop around St. Barths, a fast dash to Saba, and technical coastal legs close to shore. With strong trade winds, challenging courses, and an exceptional lineup of multihulls, the 2026 Caribbean Multihull Challenge promises another unforgettable edition.
