Perhaps the most famous beach of St Maarten located in the south of the island sitting right next to Princess Juliana International Airport, is perfect for plane spotting. Approximately every 15 minutes a plane passes over Maho Beach, but you can always make sure at what time the planes are passing by visiting one of the surrounding restaurants or bars as they all have the timetable for planes.

 

 

Commercial flights, private jets and everything else are arriving and leaving daily at the airport in the Dutch side. Surrounding the beach are a lot of hotels, restaurants and other attractions which makes Maho Beach the perfect spot for any tourist visiting St Maarten!

 

 

The beach can be very crowded, because of the many tourists who all want to experience the stunning image of the low-passing planes. It is important to take care when visiting the beach, because the jet blasts of the airplanes can be very intense. Especially when the beach is really crowded it is advised to watch out.

 

 

But nonetheless, visiting Maho Beach should definitely be on top of your to-do list when visiting St Maarten!
