THE DAILY HERALD: JUNIOR CALYPSO, ROAD MARCH AND STEELPAN WINNERS RECEIVE PRIZES
PRIZING CEREMONY WHICH CLOSES DOWN ST MAARTEN MUSIC COMPETITIONS.
Last Friday, the 2023 Calypso Barbara Junior Calypso, the Dow Musical Foundation Interscholastic Steelpan Competition, and the Road March Competition finished their events with a prize-giving ceremony. The ceremony took place at Emilio’s Wilson Park located at Cul de Sac. The prizes that were given away were money, medals, and tokens of appreciation.
The St Maarten Carnival Development Foundation Calypso Barbara Junior Calypso, the Road March Competition and the Dow Musical Foundation Interscholastic Steelpan Competition were held for the first time in the beginning of April. All events were organized by Isidore York, who is nick-named ‘the Mighty Dow’. Isidore is also the one who awarded the prizes.
The Dow Musical Foundation gave out special thanks to each patron, and its sponsors. Isidore is extremely happy with the latest development of music on St Maarten and looks forward to putting in his best effort in the upcoming competitions.
