Grumpy’s is one of the most popular bars among islanders on the Dutch side of St. Maarten—and for several good reasons.

First and foremost, the atmosphere is relaxed and open. Although there isn’t a beach nearby, the layout and vibe make you feel as if you are on one of the island’s 37 beaches. It also frequently features live music.

Another big draw is its convenient location between Philipsburg, the residential area of Pointe Blanche, and the cruise ship terminal. This makes it an ideal spot for professionals to unwind at the end of the workday or kick off the weekend. You will also find yacht crews here from the marinas next door.

Easy parking is another major plus for regulars. The Dock Maarten parking lot makes the bar accessible at any time of day. This is equally convenient for daytime cruise visitors, as the bar sits right along their ten-minute walk between Philipsburg and the port. It serves as a perfect stopover before heading on to the next leg of their journey.

Although Grumpy’s is primarily a bar, it offers a menu of snacks, burgers, and pizzas on most days.
