CALYPSO SINGING COMPETITION
On Friday March 24th, the 2023 NAGICO Senior Calypso Competition will take place in Philipsburg. 18 local singers will participate in the Calypso eliminations. St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF) and NAGICO are both very excited for the event.
Every participant has to sing a song, 10 people will make it to the finals where they will face Beau Beau, the current throne holder. The Calypso finals will happen in Carnival village on April 26th. There, the participants have to sing two songs instead of one. The participants are all veteran singers for the Calypso show, so the competition is going to be tough. The pressure even gets higher because the participants have to face King Beau Beau.
The foundation SCDF gave out special thanks to NAICGO for staying faithful during the whole event.
