Enjoy flavorful delights during St. Maarten/St. Martin’s annual gastronomic feast.

During November, the island transforms into a culinary paradise, beckoning food enthusiasts and travelers alike to indulge in a tantalizing experience known as St. Maarten Flavors. This gastronomic extravaganza, spanning the entire month, is a vibrant celebration of the island’s rich culinary heritage, diverse culture, and delectable flavors.

St. Maarten Flavors is a delightful fusion of traditional island fare and international gastronomic influences. Local chefs, celebrated for their artistry, craft a menu that showcases the island’s bounty — fresh seafood, tropical fruits, and aromatic spices. From lively beachfront venues to charming eateries and fine dining, the options are as diverse as the island itself.

In 2023, participating establishments offered some of their renowned signature dishes at reduced prices. Some restaurants and bars, including Aziana Asian Fusion Food Bar, Dinghy’s Beach Bar & Grill, NOLA Bayou Bistro, The Original Fat Boy Jimmy’s, Palapa Grill & Lounge, The Captain’s Rib Shack, Schnitzelhouse SXM, Sint Rose Beach Bar, The Chef Table, The Pier, and The Tavern offered a one-course light bite or cocktail combination for $17.50. Others, including Al Pasha, Amoré, Astra, Avantika, Emilio’s, Infinity Restaurant, Jai’s Contemporary Fusion Cuisine, La Perle Bleu, Mr. Chow at Oasis, Ocean Lounge, Pure Ocean, Rendez-Vous Lounge, Roma, Sale & Pepe, SALT Restaurant + Bar, TJ’s Cassava Coal Pot, and Topper’s Restaurant & Bar featured a full three-course meal for $49.

What sets this program apart is its emphasis on collaboration while shining a spotlight on the island’s culinary prowess. Sale & Pepe’s offerings — Crab Cake Caribbean Style Caesar Salad, Lobster Ravioli, and Tiramisu — tempted your taste buds, and Amoré’s Gamberi Shrimp, Ossobuco, and Profiteroles with Vanilla Ice Cream was a foodie’s dream. Meanwhile, Topper’s featured their Coconut Jumbo Shrimp, followed by prime rib or freshly caught lobster, and its Famous Rhum Cake to top off the perfect meal.

You cannot overlook the lively atmosphere that accompanies St. Maarten/St. Martin’s dining scene. The island comes alive with vibrant festivals, lively music, and art exhibitions, adding an element of festivity to every dining experience. The fusion of delicious cuisine, lively entertainment, and the breathtaking scenery makes for an unforgettable experience.

St. Maarten Flavors serves as a true testament to the island’s commitment to preserving its gastronomic heritage while embracing innovation and international influences.
