Pink Sunset Sail Set to Raise Awareness and Funds

Aqua Mania Adventures will host the 11th annual Pink Sunset Sail in St. Maarten on October 3, bringing together residents, visitors and supporters for an evening aimed at raising money and awareness for breast cancer initiatives on the island.

The event will benefit the Positive Foundation and the Elektralyets Foundation, with part of the proceeds from sailing tickets and all raffle ticket purchases going toward the two local organizations. The foundations support breast cancer education, early detection efforts and assistance for women affected by the disease.

The event is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. with a Pink Mixer at the Marina at Simpson Bay Resort. Guests will be offered a welcome drink and snacks while steelpan music provides the entertainment. The gathering is also intended to give returning guests and newcomers an opportunity to meet before the sailing begins.

One of the pre sailing activities will be a best dressed competition, with prizes presented before guests board the boats.

Pink Sunset Sail combines fundraising and community outreach

Boarding is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., when guests will head out on Lambada, Tango and the Golden Eagle catamarans for an evening cruise along the St. Maarten coastline.

The sailing will include an open bar and snacks, with the sunset providing the setting for the main event. Aqua Mania Adventures said the participation of Eddie and his Golden Eagles team has helped the event expand by making the vessels available for the occasion.

Beyond the social aspect of the evening, organizers are using the gathering to keep attention on breast cancer awareness and the importance of regular checkups. Early detection is a central message of the event, according to the organizers.

The fundraising component will take place throughout the evening. Raffle tickets will be sold and drawn aboard each vessel, with prizes contributed by businesses supporting the event. Organizers said additional businesses have confirmed contributions, adding to the number of prizes expected to be available.

Support for local breast cancer foundations

Money raised through the event will go to the Positive Foundation and the Elektralyets Foundation. According to the information provided by Aqua Mania Adventures, both organizations are involved in breast cancer education and early detection campaigns, while also providing assistance to people affected by the disease.

Shelly Alfonso and Elektra, representing the Positive Foundation and Elektralyets Foundation, emphasized the practical impact of the fundraising.

The event therefore combines several elements that extend beyond an evening on the water. Funds are directed toward local organizations, while the event itself provides a public platform for information about screening and early detection.
