ALEC THE BUTCHER MONUMENT

A Historical Figure

At the border of the Dutch side and the French side of the island, the statue of Alexander Lionald Richardson is located on a roundabout. Alexander Lionald Richardson, nicknamed Alec the Butcher, was known for farming and selling fresh meat as well as being the father of 42 children. Many of his children, were probably on the bus from Jean-Frederique Brooks better known as Tata the Bus driver. A statue of Tata the bus driver is accompanying the Alec the Butcher on the same roundabout.

The other statue located on the roundabout, is of Florian Eulalie Duzanson, nicknamed Lalie. All 3 of them were considered national heroes by many.
