SXM Festival Celebrates 10th Anniversary with First 2027 Lineup
SXM Festival has announced the first artists for its 10th edition, with Bob Sinclar, MEDUZA, Sasha and Claptone among the names confirmed for the five day electronic music festival in St. Martin. The anniversary edition will take place from March 17 to 21, 2027.
The first lineup announcement also includes Guy Gerber, Dombresky, performing as Disco Dom, Franky Rizardo, Brunello, Patrick Topping, Dennis Cruz, Chelina Manuhutu, Deer Jade, Matt Sassari and Max Styler. Further artists, parties and events are expected to be announced ahead of the festival.
For St. Maarten, the announcement puts one of the island’s established international music events back on the calendar for 2027, with thousands of visitors expected to experience the destination alongside the festival program.
A lineup built around established electronic music names
The first group of artists covers several areas of electronic music. French house artist Bob Sinclar is among the best known names announced, while MEDUZA brings the sound of the Italian electronic trio to the island. British progressive house artist Sasha is also part of the first wave.
Claptone, Guy Gerber and Dombresky are joined by artists including Patrick Topping, Dennis Cruz, Franky Rizardo and Chelina Manuhutu. Deer Jade, Matt Sassari, Max Styler and Brunello complete the first announcement.
The festival has previously featured internationally recognised artists including Carl Cox, Jamie Jones, BLOND, Bonobo and Richie Hawtin. Its programming has combined established performers with artists who were still developing their international profiles at the time of their appearances.
St. Martin is part of the festival experience
SXM Festival does not operate from one permanent festival site. Events take place at different locations around St. Martin, including beaches, villas, clubs and other venues on both the French and Dutch sides.
For visitors, that means the festival is closely tied to exploring the island. A day can involve attending an event on the beach before heading elsewhere for food, an afternoon gathering or an evening performance. The locations are spread across the destination rather than concentrated in a single festival complex.
That format also means festival visitors interact with the wider tourism industry during their stay. Hotels and villas provide accommodation, while restaurants, transportation providers, boat operators and other local businesses form part of the experience surrounding the event.
Recent editions have attracted guests from more than 58 countries, giving the festival an international audience while keeping St. Martin at the centre of the experience.
Ten editions since 2016
SXM Festival was founded in 2016 and has now reached its 10th edition. Its history on the island has included significant interruptions, including the impact of Hurricane Irma in 2017 and the later disruption caused by the COVID 19 pandemic.
Despite those interruptions, the festival returned to St. Martin and continued its relationship with local businesses, venues, suppliers and service providers.
The 2027 edition will mark the beginning of the festival’s second decade. According to founder Julian Prince, maintaining the character of the event has remained more important than simply expanding its size.
“From the beginning, I never wanted SXM to be the biggest festival. I wanted people to go home with stories they would still be telling years later. You come for the music, but then the island takes over. You discover places you didn’t know existed, meet people you never expected to meet, and suddenly you’re watching the sun come up with friends you made two days ago. Ten editions later, that feeling is still there. Protecting it is what matters most to me.”
More announcements expected before March 2027
The first artist announcement provides only part of the program for the 10th edition. SXM Festival says additional performers, parties and anniversary experiences will be revealed in the coming months.
The festival will take place across St. Martin from March 17 to 21, 2027, bringing five days of electronic music to the island as SXM Festival enters its second decade.
