At the foot of the rolling hills of the Dawn Beach area near the Dawn Beach Club and the Princess Heights Hotel, one finds the namesake beach that directly invites to swim and snorkel. A path leads from the Westin / Dawn Beach entrance towards the beach.

Dawn Beach is located on the eastern coast of Dutch Sint Maarten, near Oyster Pond / Oyster Bay. The shoreline consists of fine white sand and stretches for roughly 1.4 kilometres (about 0.9 miles). The water depth increases gradually near shore, and a coral reef lies a short swim offshore, making the beach popular for swimming and snorkeling. Beach‑side facilities or services may be limited in some sections; parts of the beach are backed by hillside developments and the former resort area, while other sections remain more natural. The orientation toward the Atlantic and the island’s east means surf and wind conditions can vary, and water conditions may be less calm than in fully sheltered bays.
