Aqua Beach Fun Brings Water Sports and Sailing to St. Maarten on October 10
St. Maarten will host a day of water and beach activities on Saturday, October 10, as local sports organizations come together for Aqua Beach Fun at Kim Sha Beach. Earlier in the day, the St. Maarten Yacht Club will also open its sailing school to the public for a sailing open house.
Aqua Beach Fun at Kim Sha Beach
Aqua Beach Fun runs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Kim Sha Beach and will feature beach volleyball, eFoiling, swimming, kayaking and canoeing. Participation is free and the program is open to all ages.
Several local sports organizations will take part in the afternoon, including Carib Swim Team, Super Splash Swim Team, the Friendly Island Kayak Canoe Association (FIKA) and TriSport. The program brings together both water and beach sports, giving participants the chance to discover different activities in one location.
Among the activities is eFoiling, which uses an electric hydrofoil board that lifts the rider above the water. Kayaking and canoeing will also be represented by FIKA, while swimming teams will introduce visitors to their sport.
Sailing Open House
From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the St. Maarten Yacht Club will host an open house at its sailing school. The SMYC Sailing School is inviting the public to visit the club, learn more about sailing and explore the sport.
Because the sailing open house overlaps with the first part of Aqua Beach Fun, those interested in both programs can start the day at the yacht club before heading to Kim Sha Beach for the afternoon activities.

Aqua Beach Fun at Kim Sha Beach 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Both events are free and open to all ages, offering residents and visitors an opportunity to experience several of St. Maarten’s local water and beach sports on the same day.
