As an appetizer, you are likely to be proudly shown the wide variety of cocktails, and it is advised to take your time studying those. The craft cocktail offering has been the newest expansion of an already impressive beverage selection, true to the “Wine” part of the property name.

The Deconstructed Cuba Libre, sangrias, and Mojitos can be considered their flagships. The Latin twist of the owners goes beyond the South American flavors found in the “balls” alone.
When you are ready for “the meat” of it all, consider the Tuna Tacos and Meatballs. Chicken meatballs were added in 2026. Sharing is caring; in the intimate Balls & Wine setting, it is encouraged to see the menu of balls and other delicacies as a tapas menu, allowing you to try a variety of tastes.

Parking & Accessibility

Balls & Wine does have some parking spots available, but make sure the restaurant reserves one for you in advance. The Simpson Bay area is popular and has limited parking space.
For the best enjoyment, treat yourself to a carefree taxi ride to the area and take one back from wherever you choose to end up on your night out.

Additional parking spots can be found across the Simpson Bay Bridge, but it is recommended to arrive early, especially during the December-to-May high season.
If convenient, the Philipsburg-to-Maho/Cupecoy minivan bus line stops in front. Frequent during the day, keep in mind that service decreases in the evenings.

Dress Code

As compact as Balls & Wine might be, a visit is considered a sumptuous night out on the island. Owners Eduardo and Ricardo will welcome you in any costume, but to avoid feeling underdressed, most visitors wear attire suitable for a night out in a cosmopolitan city.

As big as its fame might be, even with its recent expansion, Balls & Wine remains a restaurant with limited seating.
The fact that it is locally popular makes it highly advisable to give the restaurant a heads-up that you are planning to come. Walk-ins can always join, however, and waiting at the small but dedicated cocktail and wine bar with friendly personnel is more of an experience than a burden.

• Contrary to what the name suggests, even for connoisseurs, the “balls” do not necessarily have to go with wines or cocktails only. As dedicated and special as its wine menu and cocktails might be, the fridge also has a cosmopolitan variety of beers, including some German ones that are rarely offered on the island.
• For the 2026/2027 edition of St. Maarten Flavors, the restaurant especially added Chicken Meatballs. The dish brings five tender chicken meatballs served in homemade tomato sauce with added grated Parmesan.
• For the new setup of Balls & Wine, a professional designer was contracted. The ambiance tells the story, though the restaurant has kept its small-scale feel with an eye for personal attention.
