THE DAILY HERALD: DMF CLOSES SUMMER CAMP WITH GRAND FINALE CONCERT

On Sunday August 7, 2022, the Dow’s Musical Foundation (DMF) had their two-hour Grand Finale Concert at the Philipsburg Cultural Center.
After five weeks of ‘Melodies and Adventures Summer Camp’ 120 students showcased their new acquired skills. Founder of the foundation, Mr. Isidore “Mighty Dow” York, aims to educate, preserve and promote steel pan music on St Maarten.
Though, the foundation’s main focus is steelpan. There is the possibility to learn how to play various instruments. Such as; piano, guitar, tenor saxophone and much more. Lookout out for DMF during the 2022/2023 school year as lessons will be given to several primary, secondary and after-school programs.
