THE DAILY HERALD: CARIBBEAN EAGLES CELEBRATES ITS 14TH ANNUAL SXM BIKE FEST TODAY

Bikers from St. Croix, Luxembourg and Aruba arrived in St. Maarten on Monday, November 7, for the 14th Annual SXM Bike Fest.

On Saturday, November 5, bikers arrived in Galisbay, Marigot, on board the Marin ship from Guadeloupe and Martinique.
 

The countdown is over: The 14th Annual Bike Fest is finally here. Starting today, Thursday, November 10, and continuing until Sunday, November 13, bikers from the United States, Aruba, France, Guadeloupe, Martinique, St. Croix, Canada, Luxemburg, The Netherlands and St. Barths will be joining the daily rides and festivities.  
 
Former President Jane Therond-Netto says Caribbean Eagles is pleased to be able to bring this event to the island for another year. “We would like to thank all sponsors and everyone that helped in any way. Without you, we cannot do it,” she says.
 
The Caribbean Eagles Board welcomes all overseas riders to St. Maarten and is calling upon all local riders – including street bikes, and motorcycles of any kind – to come and join in the festivities. The parties are open to everyone: Bikers and non-bikers are welcome to join the parties.
 
Registration begins at 5:00pm today, Thursday, November 10, at the Soggy Dollar Bar in Simpson Bay, where the opening/welcome party with the mechanical Bull, Rock Band: Livin High and quest star Ronny Santana will take place.
 
Then tomorrow, Friday, November 11, the St. Martin / St. Maarten Day ride starts at 10:00am at the Orange Grove Caribbean Eagles Cub house with a Flag Ceremony, after which bike games will take place at Port de Plaisance. Friday’s ride ends at the Black Cross Club in Hope Estate with a party featuring the GTM band and dancers; drinks and food.
 

Saturday’s ride will start at 5:00pm at the Caribbean Eagles Club in Orange Grove. The ride ends at Soggy, where the bikers will dance away the night with Control Band.
