DAILY HERALD: NEW SCDF PRESIDENT RADJOUKI AIMS TO BRING CARNIVAL BACK TO ITS ROOTS
CARNIVAL TONIC
The St Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF) elected a new president a 23-year Carnival veteran Mr. Eduardo Radjouki.
For 2023 the aim is to refocus on the cultural aspects of the festival. With intention of reviving shows like Junior Calypso Competition, Junior Pageant, Youth Extravaganza and Parade. Nonetheless, international events are still apart of the line-up but will now be dealt with by international promoters.
The Carnival dates are April 14 to May, 2023. Look out for the official schedule in the coming weeks.
