Photo Of The Week: Regatta Sets Sail

This week’s picture of the week by Amy is a beautiful aerial photo of the 46th edition of the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta, taken on friday March 6. From the distance in between of the competitors you can tell the race either just started, or the contest was exciting until the very end!

The St. Maarten Heineken Regatta is the island’s most important nautical event and takes place in early March. If you missed it, do not despair as the annual events calendar is filled with sailing contests in various classes.

In general sailing opportunities are a well known feature of the island, so you can always charter a sailing boat to determine your own itinerary.
