Anse Marcel is the outmost northern cove of the island. After crossing the hills from the direction of Orient Bay and Grand Case, a lush green bay with light blue waters opens up, only kilometers removed from Anguilla. Next to a great place to spend a day on the beach, also a departure point for various hikes.
Beautiful Anse Marcel was selected in 1989 for a summit between French president Francois Mitterrand and American George H. W. Bush to discuss the post – Cold War situation in Europe.
The sole road to Anse Marcel departs from the road towards French Cul-de-Sac (also harbor to Pinel Island, not far from the roundabout at the road from Orient Bay to Grand Case.

Anse Marcel Beach is located on the northern coast of the French side of Saint Martin/Sint Maarten in a sheltered cove. The shoreline consists of fine white sand set within a calm bay protected by surrounding hills, resulting in shallow, mostly tranquil waters suitable for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and paddleboarding. The beach extends for about 400 meters along the bay and is adjacent to a small marina and several nearby hotels and beach-side restaurants. Parking and access to the beach are available via a road that climbs over the hills from nearby Orient Bay and Grand Case.
