Baie Longue is located in the Terres Basses (Lowlands) area on the western coast of Saint Martin/Sint Maarten. The beach stretches over approximately two miles (roughly 3–3.5 kilometres) along a gently curving coastline. It features soft white sand and calm, clear turquoise waters, making it well suited for long walks, swimming and snorkeling. Baie Longue is relatively secluded and tranquil compared with more developed beaches; there are few if any public amenities directly on the sand, so visitors are encouraged to bring their own beach gear and supplies. Its width and length also mean there is ample space for visitors seeking privacy, and the beach is known for beautiful sunsets over the water.
