SMART (St. Maarten – St. Martin Annual Regional Tradeshow) prepares to welcome a number of Tour Operators, International Press, Media as well as Regional Hoteliers and Tourist Boards to St. Maarten for 2 days of Networking , Activities and Workshops at the Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino.

It all kicks off on Tuesday May 25th 2010 with a Welcome Party at the newly opened Porto Cupecoy luxury villas from 7:30pm-9:30pm. SMART delegates are invited to enjoy an evening of cocktails and entertainment, giving them the opportunity to network and mingle in a social setting, before the actual Tradeshow begins on Wednesday May 26th 2010, where delegates will sit through a series of one-on-one appointments. The evening comes to a close with a Farewell reception for the delegates, poolside at the Hotel Beach Plaza from 7:30pm-9:30pm.

The tradeshow is then followed by a Day of Activities on Thursday May 27th 2010, Including Day Trips, Island Tours and Sales & Marketing Workshops. SMART 2010 Workshops will feature presentations from “Travelocity” and the “The Knot”.

Representatives of  Travelocity  will give a series of detailed guides and tips for hotels and excursion operators to gain a top position within the industry. Followed by representatives of  The Knot  who will present the increasingly popular Destination Wedding concept with their 2009 Destination Weddings and Honeymoon Study. Giving an in-depth look at the who, what, when, where, why and how to-be-weds plan and “book” destination weddings and honeymoons.

Though delegate registrations are slightly lower than the previous year, the quality of Buyers and Suppliers attending the show remain of a high standard, while the numbers of press and media attending the show have increased, SMART will continue to generate great exposure for St. Maarten – St. Martin and rest of North Eastern Caribbean region as we enter the slow season.
