Greenhouse Restaurant – The original Greenhouse is in Bobby’s Marina at the head of Philipsburg with a glorious view across Great Bay to the hills in the distance. In the spring of 2009 a new Greenhouse opened in Simpson Bay. Both locations have regular events, such as lobster night and Alaskan King Crab Night, and throw a party for almost any event.

Chippie Café – International cuisine and sushi bar, serving lunch and dinner daily. The Café is fully air-conditioned, Wi-Fi access, projector screen on sports events, and tournament pool table. They do delivery and catering.

Sheer Restaurant – is a chic establishment that wants to cater to an upscale and refined audience.
Val, Sheer’s creator, promises to bring a sumptuous elegant and upscale experience to Philipsburg’s main shopping area. Its cuisine is called a fusion of European and Asian influences, with a touch of Caribbean flair.

Sopranos – Sopranos Restaurant allows you to indulge in fine Italian pizzas, pastas or just about any of your culinary cravings. Put some pizzazz into your life at Sopranos Piano Bar and Sopranos Restaurant, two swanky air-conditioned enclaves located in the Maho Plaza.

Jimbo’s – has grown into the best Gourmet Mexican restaurant on the island, playing great tunes, serving up fresh Mexican food and fun drinks and packing in old familiar faces and new friends every day for lunch and dinner.

Temptation – The name may sound like a strip club, but this innovative gem is one of the finest restaurants on island. The Owner/chef Dino Jagtiani, hails from a multigenerational East Indian family. Dino’s “nouvelle Caribbean” cuisine, is exciting even unusual, often utilizing unorthodox pairings.

Saratoga – Situated on the waterside at the Simpson Bay Yacht Club Marina, Saratoga has become a St. Maarten institution. Now in our 20th season we are as dedicated as ever to our food, our extensive wine & spirits lists and our friendly and professional service.

Pineapple Pete- Motto is Great Food, Great service. They pride themselves on outstanding food, fast, friendly and efficient service offered in a cozy and casual atmosphere. They are open every day for lunch and dinner, non-stop from 11am.

t. Maarten Pride Foundation and local coordinator of the International Coastal Cleanup Jadira Veen presented the 2010 International Coastal Cleanup report to Acting Lt. Governor Reynold Groeneveldt this week.

The report “Trash Travels”: from our hands to the sea, around the globe and through time” highlights” the trash data collected every year in September. The report is a comprehensive data report on each category of trash collected. It can be used by governments to introduce anti-litter programmes and sensitising the population on recycling.

This year, the International Coastal Cleanup will celebrate its 25th anniversary and in commemoration the worldwide coastal cleanup will take place on September 25.

Hundreds of local volunteers are expected to descend on Mullet Bay Beach on September 25, from 7:00 to 10:00am as part of the cleanup on St. Maarten. Underwater cleanups will be carried out with the dive industry under the guidance of Manager of Nature Foundation Tadzio Bervoets.  Half a million volunteers in 108 countries including St. Maarten picked up trash from the world’s coastal waterways and below the ocean surface in 2009.

The International Coastal Cleanup has volunteers from youth groups, service clubs, schools, St. Maarten Hospitality and Trade Association (SHTA), government agencies, animal and environmental activists and concerned citizens.
